HALO Voice Downlight - RL 5/6

HALO VOICE

 

1. Install the Smart LED downlight in your desired location.

(See enclosed instruction sheet.)

 

  • Once powered your recessed light will turn ON at:
    • Full brightness (100%)
    • 3000K color temperature (CCT)
    • and will flash twice to indicate that it is ready to be claimed

Note: Light retains state on power cycle for factory reset, unclaimed and ON state. If light was OFF (using App or schedule), after one power cycle, it restores ON state prior to OFF. Dimming and CCT will be restored.

2. Download the Halo Home App to your smart mobile device

 

3. Create a user account and validate via email

  1. Enter your email address as your user account name.
  2. Select a password of at least 8 characters from the mobile application "Register" screen.
  3. Verify identity by clicking the link in your validation email.

 

4. Press “+” on the HALO Home App screen to add the downlight.

Note: At least one HALO Home compatible device will need to be installed and powered in order to add it to the device list.

 

5. The app will search for your installed, unclaimed lights.

  1. Select the light and click “Add” to complete the pairing process.
  2. The light blinks once to indicate it has been claimed.
    Note: The app works only when your HALO Home compatible device is powered and within about 40 feet (depending on the Bluetooth range of your smart mobile device).

 

Setting up a group

  1. At the top left, press the "  " menu icon and click on "Groups" to access the new grouping page.
  2. Tap the large plus sign in the center of the screen, or in the top right corner, to make your first group. Then enter a unique name for your group and tap “Done”.
  3. Touch and drag devices from the bottom of the screen towards the top of the screen to add them to your Group. Repeat to add more and press next.
  4. That’s it! After your group is saved, you will be brought to the “Group Settings” menu.

 

Setting up a schedule

To set up a new schedule, follow these steps:

  1. Once you have claimed the device, tap the "  " icon in the top left-hand corner.
  2. Select the schedule tab and click the “+” to set up a schedule.
  3. Name your schedule.
  4. Using the dial, set up your desired time.
  5. Tap the days of the week you want the schedule applied to.
  6. Tap “Save” to apply your schedule.
  7. Click the “…” logo next to your schedule.
  8. Click “Apply” to select the product you would like to include in the schedule.
  9. “Save” to update and save your schedule.

Reset to Factory Setting

  • Using the wall switch, repeat this process 4 times: OFF for ½ second + ON for 5 seconds.
  • After a successful reset, the light will blink once and then dims down to 5% at 3000K to indicate being unclaimed.
    It will blink twice on subsequent power cycling until it is claimed with the app.

Dimming

  • The LED downlight will dim from 100% to 5% using the mobile app.
  • Dimming must be done with the app or with HALO Home dimmers (Anyplace or Accessory).
    HALO Home TIP: Use the HALO Home Smart Dimmer to bring any dimmable light fixture in your home into your HALO Home Smart Lighting System!

Adjusting Color Temperature

  • Use the mobile app to adjust color temperature (CCT) of your downlight(s).

Manual Override

  • If the light is OFF in the app, cycle power one time, the light will return to the previous ON state.

 

Note: If you have already registered for a HALO Home account, you may skip to step 3.

 

1. Download the Halo Home App to your smart mobile device

 

2. Create a user account and validate via email

  1. Enter your email address as your user account name.
  2. Select a password of at least 8 characters from the mobile application "Register" screen.
  3. Verify identity by clicking the link in your validation email.

 

3. Setup your Bridge

  • Ensure your Bridge is within 5 to 40 feet from the Wi-Fi router you want to connect it to, and no more than 70 feet from the nearest HALO Home device.
  • Plug in the Internet Access Bridge into a 100-240V socket.
  • Wait at least 2 minutes for the Bridge to initialize. You will be ready to continue once the Blue and Green indicator lights are blinking.

Note: It may help to move a HALO Home device closer to the Bridge and the Bridge closer to the Wi-Fi router for setup.

 

 

4. Add the Bridge to the app

  1. Press the " " menu button in the upper left hand corner and navigate to "Controllers", then press the "+" button on the screen.
  2. Allow your device list to populate and select the Bridge and press "Add". (It may take up to 30 seconds for the process to complete.)
  3. Choose your preferred Wi-Fi network in the app. Enter your Wi-Fi network password to complete the setup.

Note: At least one HALO Home compatible device will need to be claimed and powered in order to connect to the Bridge.

Note: Your Wi-Fi network password and your HALO Home password may be different.

 

Voice Control with Amazon Alexa

Now that you have sucessfully connected the Bridge to your HALO Home account, you can use the following links to configure your HALO Home account for voice activation.

Reboot:

  1. Press the button on the Bridge for 5 seconds to reboot the Bridge. This will reconnect your Bridge to your Wi-Fi network.

 

Reset:

  1. Press the button on the Bridge for 15 to 20 seconds.
  2. On a successful reset, you will see the Blue LED blinking, indicating the Bridge is ready to be claimed again.
  3. If you do not see any change in the Blue LED, just unplug the Bridge and plug it back into the power outlet to perform a power cycle.
  4. After 2 minutes you will see the Blue LED blinking and you can then claim the Bridge back to your account.
