Smart Light Adapter

1. Install the Smart Light Adapter in your desired location (See enclosed instruction sheet)

Once powered the lighting that is connected to your Smart Light Adapter will turn ON at:

  • full brightness (100%)
  • and will flash twice to indicate that it is ready to be paired

If you have already registered for a Halo Home account, you may skip to step 4.


2. Download the HALO Home app to your smart mobile device

3. Create a user account and validate via email

  • Enter your email address as your user account name.

  • Select a password of at least 8 characters from the mobile application “Register” screen.

  • Verify identity by clicking the link in your validation email.

4. Begin a new device search

  1. Tap the " " menu button in the upper left corner
  2. Navigate to "Devices" and tap the " + " icon

The app will search for your installed, unpaired devices.

Note: Stay in range. Your mobile device will need to be within 40' of the device when pairing.

5. Add the Smart Light Adapter to the app

  1. Select the Smart Light Adapter and click “Add” to complete the pairing process
  2. The connected light blinks once to indicate it has been paired

You can now control the Smart Light Adapter from the app, associate it to a control device, or add it to a group or schedule.

Note: Stay in range. Your mobile device will need to be within 40' of the device when pairing.

Creating a group

  1. Press the " " menu button in the upper left corner
  2. Navigate to “Groups” and tap the " + " icon
  3. Enter a unique name for your group and press “Done”
  4. Drag and drop devices to the top area to add them to the group
  5. Once all devices are added to the group, press"Next" to save the group

Note: Any fixture connected to the Smart Light Adapter will be automatically included in the group.

Setting up a schedule

To set up a new schedule, follow these steps:

  1. Press the " " menu button in the upper left corner
  2. Navigate to “Schedules” and tap the " + " icon
  3. Enter a unique name for your group and press “OK”
  4. Tap to select an On/Off, On or Off command
  5. Using the dial, set up your desired time
  6. Tap the days of the week you want the schedule applied to
  7. Tap “Save” to apply your schedule and then "Dismiss" after the confirmation notice appears
  8. Tap “Apply” to select the Device, Group or Scene to include in the schedule
  9. Save” to update and save your schedule

Reset to Factory Setting

  • Using either a standard wall switch or the air gap switch on an Accessory Dimmer cycle power to the Smart Light Adapter as instructed:

    • Repeat this pattern 4 times:

      • Turn OFF for ½ second

      • Turn ON for 5 seconds

  • After a brief delay the LED floodlight will flash twice to indicate a successful reset

Dimming

  • The Smart Light Adapter will dim the connected light from 100% to 5%

  • Dimming must be done either with the app or with HALO Home dimmers (Anyplace Dimmer, Accessory Dimmer, or Scene Keypad)

Power Cycle Behavior

  • An unpaired Smart Light Adapter will turn lighting ON to 100% and will flash twice if power is cycled

  • Once the Smart Light Adapter is paired, if power is cycled, lighting will turn ON to the last known dim level (If lighting was OFF previous to the power cycle, lighting will turn ON when power is restored)
