Smart Recessed Downlight - RL 4 & 5/6

1. Install the Smart LED downlight in your desired location.
(See enclosed instruction sheet.)

PLEASE NOTE: While HALO Home devices can be used on standard switches, they prefer constant power and then to be controlled wirelessly. To avoid accidental factory resets: install with HALO Home Controllers (Accessory Dimmer or Hardwired Multi-Room Scene Keypad).

  • Once powered your recessed light will turn ON at:
    • Full brightness (100%)
    • 3000K color temperature (CCT)
    • and will flash twice to indicate that it is ready to be claimed

Note: Light retains state on power cycle for factory reset, unclaimed and ON state. If the light was OFF (using App or schedule), after one power cycle, it restores ON state prior to OFF. Dimming and CCT will be restored.

Current Halo Home user? Skip to step 4.

2. Download the HALO Home app to your smart mobile device.

3. Create a user account and validate via email

  • Enter your email address as your user account name.
  • Select a password of at least 8 characters from the mobile application “Register” screen.
  • Verify identity by clicking the link in your validation email.

4. Press “+” on the HALO Home App screen to add the downlight.

IMPORTANT! iPhone 11 Users. Having issues? Please read this>

Note: At least one HALO Home compatible device will need to be installed and powered in order to add it to the device list.

5. The app will search for your installed, unclaimed lights.

  1. Select the light and click “Add” to complete the pairing process.
  2. The light blinks once to indicate it has been claimed.
Note: The app works only when your HALO Home compatible device is powered and within about 40 feet (depending on the Bluetooth range of your smart mobile device).

Reset to Factory Setting

If removal isn't possible, delete it by clicking "my device is broken" and then do the factory reset steps:

  • Using either a standard wall switch, circuit breaker or the air gap switch on an Accessory Dimmer cycle power to the HALO Home Voice as instructed:

    • Repeat this pattern 4 times:

      • Turn OFF for 2 second

      • Turn ON for 5 seconds

  • After a successful reset, the light will blink once and then dims down to 5% at 3000K to indicate being unclaimed.
It will blink twice on subsequent power cycling until it is claimed with the app.

  • The LED downlight will dim from 100% to 5% using the mobile app.
  • Dimming must be done with the app or with HALO Home Controllers (Anyplace/Accessory Dimmers or Scene Keypad).

HALO Home TIP: Use the HALO Home Smart Dimmer to bring any standard dimmable light fixture into your HALO Home Smart Lighting System!

Adjusting Color Temperature

  • Use the mobile app to adjust color temperature (CCT) of your downlight(s).
